KODAK I.LAB System Evolution
نویسندگان
چکیده
The KODAK I.LAB digital photofinishing system allows the production of silver halide prints from images originating from both film and digital still cameras. This flexibility allows not only the leveraging of complex and highly optimized wholesale photofinishing workflows to produce high-quality digital prints at low cost but provides a bridge for wholesale laboratories as customers transition from film to digital capture. This paper describes the image processing technologies used in the KODAK I.LAB system and demonstrates the aggregate effect upon delivered image quality. The digital pathway allows consumer preferences and system limitations to be addressed in a way unrealizable in conventional optical systems. Algorithms have been designed and optimized to provide improvements to color, tone, grain (or noise), sharpness, exposure, as well as the detection and removal of redeye.

In Eastman Kodak Company’s ongoing efforts to further improve the output quality of its silver halide papers Kodak has introduced KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA PREMIER Paper. This paper was developed with new emulsion and dispersion technologies that further enhances color gamut while maintaining critical image quality attributes such as flesh tone and tone scale reproduction. These improvements al...
متن کاملEastman Kodak Equipment Manufacturing : Three Scenarios
Kodak equipment manufacturing and, specifically, the role of Kodak Apparatus Division (KAD), are examined. KAD, Kodak's shared and captive parts supplier organization, competes with outside vendors to supply Kodak Lines of Business (LoBs) with a variety of fabricated parts, ranging from commodity parts to leading edge optical subassemblies and electronic components. KAD has in recent years suff...

We compared data obtained with the Kodak Ektachem and Hitachi 717 Analysers and HPLC from 83 neonates under phototherapy. Total bilirubin values determined with the Kodak and Hitachi are in good agreement, but we observed a large discrepancy in the results for conjugated (Kodak) and direct (Hitachi) bilirubin. HPLC revealed that all the samples contained configurational isomers, while only 7.7%...
متن کاملInvestigation of Kodak extended dose range (EDR) film for megavoltage photon beam dosimetry.
We have investigated the dependence of the measured optical density on the incident beam energy, field size and depth for a new type of film, Kodak extended dose range (Kodak EDR). Film measurements have been conducted over a range of field sizes (3 x 3 cm2 to 25 x 25 cm2) and depths (d(max) to 15 cm), for 6 MV and 15 MV photons within a solid water phantom, and the variation in sensitometric r...
